Mrs. Dorothy Williams, 77, passed away on July 16, 2022. Dorothy was born on December 25, 1944 in Bessemer, AL to John Weatherspoon and Willie Mae Brown.

Dorothy was the heart and soul of the family and was full of good jokes and laughter.  Her fiery and contagious presence would always light up the room.  She took pride in being a strong-willed woman. She was a wonderful, amazing cook who enjoyed making home cooked southern soul food meals.  She served in hospitality for many years at Fork & Fingers restaurant.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Williams Jr.; daughter, Marchelle Weatherspoon; son, Ronald Weatherspoon; sisters, Mildred Hughes, Barbara Boone, Virginia Shephard and Darlene Brown and brothers, Yaya Sheed and Joseph Weatherspoon; and special nephew, David Weatherspoon.

Dorothy is survived by daughter Rhonda (Rev Bruce) Bond; sons Lester Weatherspoon, Larry (Jessica) Weatherspoon; Leroy Weatherspoon Jr, and Anthony Weatherspoon; brother, Eddie Weatherspoon and sister, Queen (Clayton) Davis; grandchildren, Jerome, Chambrell, Raymond, Rachelle, Rumeal, Lavonia, Anthony Jr., Devin, Dekari, Cynthia, Jody, and Leroy Jr., 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family will receive friends at 171 Poplar St.  Monday immediately following services.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Monday, July 25, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church 275 Grace St. Interment at Mansfield Cemetery.
