LORETTA R.TRUSS was born March 27,    1936, in Springfield, Ohio. At the age of 86, she was called to rest in her heavenly Father’s arms on February 15, 2023, at 12:01 PM. Loretta gave her life to Christ at a young age. She served on the Usher Board at Shiloh Baptist Church for many years, and later became a charter member of Faith Ministries Church.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Magnolia Moore; father, Curtis Watley; stepfather, John L. Moore; grandparents, William and Bertha English; two sisters, Dena Evans and Phyllis Smith; oldest son, Kem Jordan; and grandson, Brett Dillard.

Loretta worked for the Columbus City School Board as a bus driver in the early 80s. She enjoyed being around the little ones and said they kept her young. Working inside, Loretta become a Childcare Attendant from 1991 to 2000. After battling health issues, she retired.

Loretta was a devoted Buckeye fan and loved the Green Bay Packers. To be honest, she enjoyed sports. When she wasn’t traveling or shopping, she enjoyed cooking and was fond of baking coconut cakes.

Loretta’s memory will be cherished by Vincent Truss, her loving and devoted husband of 60 years. Whenever out together, they were frequently asked, “How did you make it work, because you two broke the mold?”

Celebrating her life and legacy are siblings, Carla Allen, John (Paula) Moore, Toni Moore, and Melvin Moore; children, Nick (Delores) Jordan, Vincent Jordan, Melanie (Daniel) Houston and Terilynn Truss. Loretta also leaves behind eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special friend, Darlene Evans.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Faith Ministries, 2747 Agler Rd.. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J.     I had the pleasure of working with Loretta in the X-Ray Department of Grant Hospital many years ago. She was one of the sweetest, kindest people that I have ever known. My condolences to her family on the loss of this wonderful woman.
