Minnie Evelyn (Booth) Adams was born in Kimball, McDowell County, West Virginia to Ira and Edna Booth on December 28. 1931. She was the second of four children: Ira Jr, Minnie Evelyn, William Kermit and Jackie.

She received her formal education, graduating from Kimball High School, the class of 1948.

With then husband, Leonard Lee Scales Jr., in 1955 they moved to Columbus, Ohio with their four children, Thomas, William, Calvin and Leonard II, to 994 East Spring Street. After the birth of their daughter, Sherita, mom went to work at Reebs Restaurant, then at Burger Boy Mainliner.

From there to the Ohio State Medical Center as a nurse’s aide. She would retire from Western Electric after giving over twenty-five (25) years of service.

She was a faithful member of The End Time Church where she received the Holy Ghost. Mom entered into her eternal rest Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:27am.

In addition to her parents and baby brother William, Mom was preceded in death by her brother Ira Jr. and sister Jackie. Leonard L. Scales; son Thomas Edwin; grandson William K. Scales II; Husband Pete Adams.

Celebrating her life and legacy are her sons; William K. (Gwen) Scales, Calvin J. (Barbara) Scales, Leonard L. Scales, daughter; Sherita L. (Derrick) Reeves, grandchildren; Sherrie M.C., Camika, Taneka, Diana, Annie, James, Leonard III, 14 great grands, very close friend; Aida Parks and a host of many other family members and friends.

 

 

 

 

Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
