Ocilla McCrary Spencer was born July 4, 1930 in Fontvally, GA. to Louise Riley and Creighton McCrary. She went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2019.

Ocilla is the youngest of the siblings. She loved singing and when she was younger she loved to dance and could sew very good. She graduated High School in Georgia. She took singing lessons and some music lessons. Ocilla was the oldest member of Union Tabernacle and was the Missionary Secretary at her sister in law’s church Apostolic Power House Church of God.

Ocilla worked as a house keeper for a short time. She also worked at Marzttic for over 20 years. She was a member of Teamsters Local 413.

Ocilla is preceded in death by her parents Louise Riley McCrary, and Creighton McCrary, siblings Anna Mae McCrary, Bloom Vashti McCrary Bradley, Willie B. McCrary, Robert McCrary, and Inez McCrary Night.

She leaves to cherish her memory; daughters Mary L. Williams, and Margaret Howard, sons Amos Jr., Dale, Garry, and Steven Spencer, 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.

    My heart is super heavy right now. I’m just learning of Ms. Spencer’s passing and wish I could attend her home going. I’ve known Ms. Spencer for more than half my life and was Blessed to have known her. She was truly a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.
