Ronald “Ron” Bradley

Ronald G. Bradley was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 7, 2024, in Columbus Ohio.

Ronald was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 18, 1957, to Ruth Mae Walker and Grover Martin and raised by his father General Walker, Sr.

Ronald graduated from South High School in Cleveland in 1975 where he played basketball, and he went to the Ohio State University and played basketball there in 1976. At OSU he redshirted and decide to go to military to see the world.

He loved and enjoyed his time in the Army and everything it provided for him and his family.

While in the Army, he met and married Wilma Jones-Bradley and they have been married for over 40 years. During their marriage their son, Ronald G (BIG CHIEF) Bradley, Jr. was born; Ronnie, Jr. was a young man full of life and excitement.

Ronald, Sr. enjoyed shooting pool, basketball, crossword puzzles, music, he loved to skate, and love to dance. As a child he played the bongo and piano and he was a man that loved to smile and laugh and give joy to everyone he was around.

He has a beautiful German Shepherd named “Cesar” that he got from Germany who is his best friend. He would speak to Cesar in the German language, and he would obey his every command and protect him at the same time. I know they are missing each other.

After his departure from the Army-Airborne Unit, Ronald was a faithful employee at COTA aka Central Ohio Transit Authority for many years where he retired. On the job he was known by the names “Ponytail” and “Taps”.

Ronald is preceded in death by his son, Ronald G. Bradley, Jr.; mother, Ruth Mae Walker; father, General Walker, Sr.; birth father, Grover Martin; grandmother, Lucretia (Granny) Walker; sisters, Gloria Jean Walker and Cherelle Walker; brother, Nucci Craig; nephew John Walker and great nephew, John John Walker.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Wilma R. Bradley; daughter, Colette (Hosie) Smith; grandchildren, Hosie Jr, Khadijah, Houston, Hosanna, Josiah and Joshua Smith, and great grandchildren, Queen and Kasen; siblings, Richard (Sugar Ray) Siggers, General (Janet) Walker, Jr. , Mary Walker, Linda Walker and Robert Walker, Sr.; aunt, Estella Brantley; nieces and nephews, Ricardo Walker, Unique Walker, Karnell Walker, Treasure Walker, Ciara Walker, James Walker, Sharika Walker, Nikia Walker, Miesha Walker, Tyeisha Walker, Robert Walker, Jr., Tiffany Boone, and Dwayne Walker and great niece, Fortune Walker; cousin, Sandra San Smith. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers, and fellow military family.

Ronald Sr. will truly be missed by all that had the pleasure of loving and knowing him.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Dayton National Cemetery.
