Sophie Agnes Barnhill, age 52, was born on November 7, 1970 in Logan, West Virginia to Woodrow N. Slayton and Sophie D. Roberts who both preceded her in death. She passed away on May 29, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, James C. Barnhill Jr., son, James C. Barnhill III (wife Melissa Morrell), daughters, Jennifer Barnhill (Josh Cook), JeanAnn Rodriguez (husband Jonathan Rodriguez), Sophie Barnhill (Clark Stevenson), siblings, Shannon Smith (wife Marsh Smith), Shane Smith (Susie Smith), Shelia Emery, Shawnee Thomas, Woody Slayton (LoDonna Slayton), and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Sophie was a home health aide for years and a full-time mom of 4 kids. Sophie was a kind, loving soul full of laughter and happiness. She would give you the shirt off her back and help anyone in need. Sophie loved her dogs and bird. She enjoyed fishing, feeding birds, and playing cards.
