“Addie Virginia Long” affectionately known as “Virginia” or “Red” was born Monday, December 18, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio. On Monday, February 12, 2024 at 8:32am “Addie” passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her bedside at the tender age of 79.

“Addie” received her academic education by way of Columbus Public Schools. She was a diligent employee of the Christopher Inn and worked multiple jobs until her retirement from Country Inn & Suites.

“Addie” loved her family and friends fiercely and passionately. Her favorite pastimes were playing bingo, listening to R-Kelly, making clothes for her kids, cooking scrumptious meals (she was a wonderful cook…no one could and can beat her sweet potato pie!), and spending joyful times with her family and friends.

“Addie” is preceded in death by her mother, Jennie Mae Long; son, Chris Long; daughters, Denise Long and Monique Myles; grandchildren, Marcus, Nika, India Long, Lewis Harris and great-granddaughter Brooklyn Long.

“Addie” is survived by daughters, Pebbles Long, Mericle Long, and Jennie Long, Margaret Harris, Arnise “Cookie” Wilson-Stowell, Cynthia (Callender) Dungey, Regina, Bettye, Gwen, Le’Vernon and Sue Ann Myles; sons, Ty and Ray Myles; granddaughter/daughter, Christy Long and many bonus kids and grandkids; in laws, Torrie Long and Kristie Wilson-Long. “Addie’s” legacy will continue with (18) grandchildren, (63) great grandchildren (4) great-great grandchildren & (3) new additions on the way). Special friends, Marlene Wilson, Judy Hensley, Linda Galloway, Liz Drafton, Art Ivery, Pauline Barnes, Frank Barnett, Katherine Summerall and Allie Summerall.

Visitation 12:30 PM and Funeral Service 1:30 PM Friday, February 23, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.).

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
