Asia Mone’ Houston

HoustonAsia photo

Asia Moné Houston left us on February 28, 2024 at the early age of 32 years old. She was born March 29, 1991 to Cynthia Rawls and William Houston. She lived in Mansfield, OH and later moved to Columbus, OH where she grew up with her brothers William Michael Houston and Dapreis Dominique Owens.

Asia graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 2009 and recently completed her undergraduate degree as a Dental Lab Technician. She had a huge heart and those close to her knew she would give you the shirt off of her back if needed. Not only did she have a deep love for her family and friends, she was a Christian and loved The Lord as well as the community at One Church.

Being the oldest granddaughter born on both her mother and father’s side of the family, Asia was a natural protector. She was truly a girl’s girl who loved her long ponytails, shiny lip gloss, and lashes. Asia was confident and was unapologetically herself which made her so uniquely special and enjoyable to be around. She truly impacted each and every one of us in the most profound way by the way she smiled, loved, and nurtured.

Asia was a daddy’s girl, and the relationship she had with her mother was special––more like best friends. At times she considered herself her grandmother’s youngest daughter because of the close relationship they shared. She also had a great relationship with her paternal grandmother as well as her great Aunt.

She leaves to cherish her memories with her loving mother, Cynthia Rawls and father, William P. (Rose) Houston; siblings, William M. Houston (brother), Whitley Houston (sister), Dapreis D. Owens (brother), Ja Vaughn (Maya) Graves (special cousin/ brother), Teshaya Carter (special cousin/ sister), RaBrell Lee (step-brother), and Aaliyah Lee (step-sister); maternal grandparents, Catherine Vance and Earl T. Rawls (deceased); paternal grandparents, Margorie Lovan and Michael Crutcher; great-aunt, Catherine Leonard; aunts, Kathy Flagg, Tammy (Ralph) deChabert, L’Tanya (Dennis) Stanfield, Regina (Darren) Graves, Latoy’lia Houston; uncles, Alex (Marilyn) Rawls, Brandon (Jennifer) Gilmore and Charles Leonard, along with a host of special cousins, family, and friends.

A celebration of Asia’s life will be held on March 8, 2024 at 12:30 pm at the Chapel of Peace East Marlan J. Gary Funeral Home at 5456 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH. Asia will be laid to rest at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. The Repast will be held at SJCC Event Center at 2707 Northland Plaza Dr. Columbus, Ohio 43231. Visitation 12:30 PM and Funeral Service 1:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. 38. Hi Cuz! I’m really at a loss of words, nothing I say will reverse this tragedy. I’m hurting, I know I’m not alone, I’ve been in disbelief and now I have to face it. I will forever cherish and hold on to our memories. You were one person for sure, I knew was riding as long as I was rolling. We just talked to one another about how u were gonna come down for my graduation. I knew you loved me cousin, your actions spoke volumes. I know you knew I loved you too. I hate to be selfish, it’s just that we had so many more memories to create together. You will continue to live through me cousin. I wish I would’ve talked to you more when u called and I didn’t have time. I regret not making more time. I don’t believe in goodbyes, until next time, I love you, I know you’re with me everyday, I will continue our convos. I Love You
