Darryl Winborn, was born to Willie Alice Winborn and Arthur Baker in Cleveland Ohio on September 8, 1961.He transitioned from this life on February 22, 2024, in Los Angeles California

Darryl attended and graduated from Meadowdale High School in Dayton Oh in 1979. There he developed the craft of drawing and specialized in the cartoon segment. He had a special knack of making those characters come to life once they hit the drawing paper. His childhood was spent between Dayton and Middletown Ohio where he developed many fond memories with his cousins and family members. He was a jokester and was affectionately nicknamed “Sqaure” by his grandfather, Roosevelt Bass (Popa). He attended Cannon Missionary Baptist church in Dayton, Oh. There he was baptized and served in the youth ministry at an early age.

Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the Air Force branch of the United States Military and was honorably discharged. After serving his country, he developed a love for body building and weightlifting and spent much time perfecting those techniques. Darryl lived in various places around the country. Some of them being Colorado, Arizona, California, and South Dakota. In between those places, he landed in San Diego Ca. There he married Rosa Nunez and fathered a son, Darryl Anthony Winborn.

He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Baker, his aunt Odie Harris, uncles Ellis Winborn, Robert Winborn, Donald Winborn, maternal grandparents Roosevelt and Flora Bass and cousin Margo (Davis) Jackson

He is survived by his wife, Rosa, son, Darryl, granddaughter Maya, mother, Alice Allen, aunts Mae Shafeek, Mildred Baker Sherron, Frances Winborn, Margie Davis, cousins Melody (George) Evans, Anthony Davis, Sabrina (Donald) Holmes, Gail Davis, Thomas (Kelly) Davis, Kevin Jackson and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation 9:30 AM and Funeral Service 10:00 AM Monday, March 11, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, SPRINGFIELD CHAPEL, 823 S. Yellow Springs St. Interment at West Memory Gardens.
