Grant Howard photo

Grant Howard was born on July 11, 1956 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to Layuna and Grant Howard Sr. Grant led a simple but fulfilling life, finding joy in the company of his loved ones and pursuing his favorite pastimes. He proudly served as a private in the Marines for a brief period of time. He also actively participated in a range of sports, including softball, football, and track.  Later in life, Grant found happiness in the art of cooking meals and baking cakes to be enjoyed by family and friends. Whenever the chance arose, he would make his way over to Buckeye Lake, where he would cast his fishing line and enjoy the tranquility of nature. Additionally, he would always welcome the chance to go to a casino and try his luck at the penny slots. During football season, Grant passionately cheered on the OSU Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers dressed in one of his many team jerseys and hats. At Aarons, Grant was affectionately known as the “OG” and dedicated many years as a valued employee. He earned the love and admiration of his colleagues and customers, including his dear friend/brother, Jose. On July 6, 2023, after a brave battle with cancer, Grant embraced God’s hand and
departed from this life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Layuna and Grant Howard Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Victoria. Three daughters: Taitisha (Taya) Thrower, Lynette (Eugene) Blue, and Charmaine Roy. Sons: Avrum Fleming, Grant D. (Rachel) Howard, Grant M. Howard, William Howard, Nathaniel and Nalynn Cutler, and Dion Howard. Two sisters: Callie Howard & Harriet Herrin. Four brothers: Seth, James, and Sterling Howard, and Rodney Long. 29 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
