Maurice Pongee Drew was born on March 8, 1957 to Warwick and Ruby Drew. Maurice graduated from Linden McKinley High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United Sates Army and proudly served domestically and abroad.

Maurice was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Elvira Drew.

He is survived by his father, Warwick Pongee Drew Sr.; sisters: Lois (Clarence) Glover, Marilyn (James) Talley, Joyce (Terry) Townes; brothers: Billy Drew and Warwick Drew, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Maurice was a private and soft spoken man who loved listening to music. He taught himself to play a guitar with his right hand even though he was left-handed.

Maurice was a hard worker with an impeccable work ethic. He got what he wanted and needed the old fashion way, he worked for it.

 

Visitation 11:00am and Memorial Service 12:00pm Wednesday August 24, 2016 at Marlan Gary Funeral Home 2500 Cleveland Ave. Pastor Mitchell Ellison Officiating.
