Today, our hearts are broken as we all mourn the loss of our beloved Anita Brooks. Anita was a caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on February 9, 2024, at the age of 71 to be with Jesus.

Born on to Ivan C. and Daisy Richardson Sr. in Holden, WV on March 13, 1952, Anita completed her education at Logan High School in 1970. After graduation Anita married Larry T. Brooks Sr. and moved to Columbus, OH where she was blessed with two sons, namely Larry T. Brooks Jr. and William A. (Tony) Brooks.

Anita’s journey through life was marked by her devotion to her family. A woman of strength and resilience, Anita faced life’s challenges head on never losing her kind sprit and determination. Her career in health insurance spanned over 35 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she touched countless lives with her care and compassion.

Preceded in death by her father, Ivan C. Richardson Sr., and her brother, Michael T. Richardson.

Anita’s legacy continues through her mother, Daisy W. Richardson; siblings, Ivan C. (Dolores) Richardson Jr. and Vincent D. Richardson; children, Larry T. Brooks Jr. and William A. (Tonya) Brooks; grandchildren, Christopher (Kay), Candyce, Shareece, Tenee, Tylan, Alexis, Jordan, Justin, Cameron, and Kennedy; five great-grandchildren and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

While her family and friends are shocked by her death, they are thankful for her life.

Visitation 9:00 AM and Funeral Service 10:00 AM Friday, February 23, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
